There are so many things to do before, during, and after my NY trip orz
Today is my friend's birthday. This was my last minute gift for her, painted last night in a hurry. I'm glad she liked it.
Full size is only available on FB. A close-up, however:
In other news, I started playing Sims 3 today. Although some of the new features are quite nice and realistic, I still find it kinda disappointing. It takes forever to do just about everything (esp. gaining skill point), plus the music bores me to death. Guess I'll have to spend more time exploring it.
Alfred Jones is my first experiment with Sims 3 CAS, without custom content and all that fancy stuff (still learning how to use those). He's not as ugly as I expected him to be.
I'm trying to explore the placement of colors in a painting. The subject will automatically become pleasant to look at when you place the right color and value at the right place.
Plus I love moray eels! I'd never drawn or painted any aquatic creatures other than kindergarten-level smiley fish and crabs so this is like a whole new world to me. Who would think I would have so much fun painting an eel one day lol. I'm having problems with the highlights (it's hard to make things look deliciously shiny!), but I'm not giving up yet.
I started on this this afternoon since it was quiet and all. I actually wanted to paint it last night before I went to bed, but it was way too late for any artistic adventures to take place, so.
